on the road again

....... just cant wait to get on the road again...... we are leaving for NC tomorrow morning and we will be gone for about two weeks. I should be able to do some blogging but if not..... be back soon.

Today is my birthday! Jason is so funny when it comes to surprises. I woke up and found "happy birthday" on my mirror. In the kitchen i found a card made by the girls, a crispy treat with one candle in it, a sweet letter from jay, a birthday pass good for whatever i want, and a t-shirt that says "its my birthday, what i say goes..... for 2 weeks." The joke behind the shirt is ive been saying for the last two weeks when i get something that it can be for my birthday. I love that he is good at surprises. Even the silly little things mean so much. So far my birthday is turning out to be pretty sweet.

In other exciting news, we are going to north carolina this saturday and i can hardly stand waiting. Haley and i made a paper chain to count down the days because she is sooo excited too. It helped her better understand how many days we had to wait. Its been a year since we have been there. This is the best birthday gift *PLUS* My in-laws offered to pay for all the gas!

how rude

So this guy comes to my house selling magazines for a scholarship. He was a sneaky little guy i have to say. He asks me to pick three magazines.... so i do.... then he says...."read the fine print and sing your name". So i read it but nothing makes sense so i ask him to break it down for me. In a nut shell he wanted me to pay him 150 dollars for the three magazines. I told him that we couldnt afford that right now and he asks me if i could get just one. Still, 50 dollars for magazines that i wont even read is silly to me. I tell him no because we are going on vacation soon and dont make very much money as it is. He kinda gets an attitude and scribbles "VOID" on the slip, huffs and puffs and says well thanks anyway. Then walks out the door. I mean if i had the money to help the guy out for college i would but ive got my own money matters that come first. He didnt even ask me if i wanted the magazines or not. Call me crazy but i think he was a little rude.

Iron man

This is not a move that i would normally want to watch. In fact, when Jason asked me to watch it with him i was no so thrilled but i figured i would be a good wife and give it a shot. After all Ive made him sit through some pretty sappy chick flicks. Anywho,...... GOOD MOVIE. Not over board with the action hero stuff which i loved. Just enough. And it was funny! I should say Witty. Robert Downey jr. did a great job. Jason was tickled pink that i enjoyed it. So if you have not seen this one, i urge you to.

im on to her

It has been and ongoing battle keeping haley in her bed. She goes to bed just fine but somewhere around 2 oclock in the morning she crawls into our bed. I dont even notice she is there until morning. At first i thought she may have been sleep walking and not realizing what shes doing. The more she does it the more its clear..... she knows exactly what she doing. The past couple of nights she comes in with all her stuffed animals, her cup of water, her sleep mask.... lines all the animals up in my bed, and goes to sleep. Its killing me. Maybe i should set up a trap and catch her in the middle of the night. lol just kidding.I wish i had a picture of her with all the toys in my bed but i got one with her sleep mask on. Seriously she wears this thing every night and if we cant find hers, she wears mine. She wont go to sleep without it. Maybe she learned it from a sleep deprived mother of three,,,, just a thought.

You gonna eat yo corn bread?

This is what jay and i were saying all day yesterday. I made a pot of chili because i had a new recipe for cornbread that i really wanted to try. Jay and i ate the entire 8x8 pan. It was so yummy. It is really popular amongst us southern folk but i was never crazy about it because it was so dry. O man not this recipe. Allow me to share.

2 boxes of jiffy corn muffin mix
1 stick of butter
2 eggs
8 oz of sour cream
1 can of cream corn

bake at 375 for about 15-20 min.

This recipe calls for a 9x13 pan. I halved the recipe and used an 8x8. Good thing i did that because we would have eaten more then we already had. I promise you will not be let down by this recipe. You must try it.
